Healthy catering usually means lighter food rather than a special diet: salads, grain bowls, grilled proteins, fruit and fewer fried dishes. Most caterers here offer it as part of a wider menu, such as a salad on a buffet line or a lighter set in a meal box. Open each package to see what it actually serves, and tell the vendor early if guests are vegetarian, vegan or avoiding gluten.
There is no fixed standard. Look for fresh salads and vegetables, grilled or steamed mains instead of fried, brown rice or whole grains, and fruit instead of heavy desserts. The dish list on each package tells you more than the package name does.
Leafy salads wilt once dressed, so ask whether the dressing comes on the side. Grain and noodle salads hold better over an hour or two. Schedule delivery close to when people will eat.
Check the dietary tags on each package, and ask the vendor which dishes are meat free. Vegan means no egg, dairy or honey as well, so confirm it dish by dish.
